Memorylast

Memorylast used to be memorylast.totalh.com, but now I have moved and am now hosted by the wonderful Connie. Why did I create the website? I'm sure everyone starts off somewhere at one point. And for most people : Neopets. I started playing when I was about 7. Back then I didn't know anything about HTML at all, let alone PHP.

At around 8, I made a xanga - since my friends all had one. At the beginning, I didn't use premades, just tweaked with the colours and fonts. Afterwards, I then realized what HTML actually was, I put backgrounds on my userlookup on Neopets. I also made a guild with my friend, but it's one of those crappy guilds that makes no sense. I kept making loads of guilds. Delete, make, delete, make, delete, make, you get the idea. My friend was kinda annoyed with that. ANYWAYS. For the guild front page I copied Neopets images or other images from somewhere onto the editor in xanga. And then clicked the HTML Mode button, then the images and stuff became HTML. I also copied other people's guild layouts, hehe. But hey, I was 8! I didn't know that was wrong.

Afterwards, I made a xanga layout site when I was 9. One of my classmates - who transferred to another school helped me with it, and I was a little better in understanding HTML.

So when I was 10, I became one of those neopets avatar collector people. I then joined guilds and made really good friends online, friends whom I have lost contact with eventually (now). My good friends and I made guilds after our guild got shut down. My graphic skills were kinda sucky, but I got the hang of it in the end. The first time I approached photoshop was when I was in Art Class, we had to get people's pictures and make them look all funny and change the colours into gradients. Then print it and paint the print. I thought photoshop was really cool so I bought it on CD.

My graphics skills were improving from here, although my coding skills still weren't that great. But soon, I was responsible for the guild website. So my first attempt at making a website was for my guild (which I was the co-owner of I think). I got the hang of it. I learn from other people's source codes, and add snippets of this and snippets of that. I don't think anyone actually TYPES their coding...do they? If they do, then their memory must be like Einstein. Basically I know the basics and all, but some have really complicated letterings and I don't really remember that that well. I then learnt that Paint Shop Pro was pro-er (or so says Bernice), so I bought it as well and I use it as my main graphics program.

So back to the story. I had ICT classes at school. We had our own subdomain things - though the user is really funny and stupid. We learnt to use Frontpage to transfer files onto the net. But FTP is much better. I just use Frontpage to save some coding and move around divs to put them in position. I saw the fun-ness in making a website, so I went to find a host. Found one, worked on it for I don't know how long - more than half a year. I closed down after. When off to play Audition and MapleStory, it was fun for, like, 4 months but after that they said that IPs from my country was gonna get banned in a month so I didn't have the mood to play anymore. If I play, level and stuff, then it would all be wasted cause I'm getting IP blocked anyway, so now HERE I AM!! With my new and improved l33t skills.
